Let him eat cake... and some pizza too

LT had family over to the new 'plex to celebrate his first birthday. Even his grandpa (his dad's dad) who hardly ever ventures from Summit County to Denver made the trip for the special occasion (at left).

He opened a few cool presents like the stuffed dog (at right) which he gave hugs and kisses just like he does with Bowen but mostly enjoyed playing the tissue paper.

Far and away the best gift, however, were the "batteries included" in a gift from Rebecca.

Showing off his game face 'cause that's what you do at a party these days. Too bad Mia wasn't around to be impressed.

From left to right: Papa and Grandma (Kari's parents), Kar, LT & me, Grandpa (my dad), uncle Steve and Aunt Mad and my mom took the picture so isn't in this one but she can be seen encouraging LT in the game face photo above.

We don't have too many pictures of just the three of us.

When babies turn one there are suddenly lots of new foods on the 'approved' list. Kari made pizza for everyone and LT got some too. At one point he got excited about something and started clapping his hands which caused a piece of pizza to fly off and stick to his nose.

At our wedding reception we had Spring Fling cake from the Market and it's now become sort of a 'tradition' to have it on special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries. For LT's big day Kari baked her own knock off version of the Market cake and did a pretty good job of it. LT wasn't sure about it at first (maybe because of the small fire on top)...

But he got the idea pretty fast. Notice Bowen with full attention on LT ready to clean up any cake that might find its way to the floor (and in spite of a strong effort by LT, plenty did).
