Robotics Weekend

Both big kids had robotics tournaments on Saturday (and B had a long playdate/sleepover).  I was only able to go to the afternoon of Ads competition, but he had a big cheering crowd of Brian, Baba and Grandma and Papa.  

And while the team didn't do well, they did earn the Judges award at the end.

 

Snow much fun

We got home from the Broadmoor on Sunday, Monday was MLK day, so no school, and also FREEZING.  Ads had a bunch of friends over and then we found out school was canceled TUESDAY also.  He invited the same crew back over, plus some others for a lunch party.  

They had grapes, carrots and mac and cheese (probably all they could find in our house after we had been gone).  One set the table, one cooked, a few cleaned up and one did the dishes.  

 

3 Nights at the Broadmoor

Our beloved babysitter got married at the Broadmoor last weekend and so we made a little vacation out of it.  The hotel was beautiful and the holiday lights were still up, which made it even more magical.

The wedding was adults only, but the kids were happy in the room ordering room service.

As is always the case with our age gap, this one gets up early, while the big kids want to sleep late.  B spent a lot of the mornings reading, sometimes in the bathtub.

And sometimes in the hallway with glow sticks leftover from the wedding.

We also spent a lot of time swimming, bowling, and playing other games.

The last time we were there was 10 years ago and we have a photo of Ads laying on the carpet in the bowling alley with his hands under his chin.  I tried to have him recreate it, he wasn't going to lay on the ground (smart choice), but did agree to this.

And since B wasn't around 10 years ago, he wanted to make sure to be a part of the memory too.

 

A Sleepover and a Birthday Party

B had his buddy sleepover last weekend and LT had a 16 year old birthday party for a friend.

 

Globetrotters

I remembered the Globetrotters being really fun as a kid and so I gifted the family tickets to go together this year.  It didn't disappoint!  Everyone enjoyed it, but I think B liked it the most.

Last week of 2023

We had a relaxing time in the mountains the last week of the year (and first few days of this year).  We played games, took Lexi on walks, went bowling with friends, had dinner with different friends, went swimming with another friend and skied a few days.  I tried to put down my phone, but we did get a few pictures.

Traditional NYE fondue.

Followed by a dance party.

B and I had a fun ski day at Keystone while the big guys skied with Brian.  We also took a quick break to look at the ice fort.

And today, we swapped and I skied with the big kids and Brian and B had a fun day skiing.
