Melanoma 5K

The boys and I, and several family friends, did the melanoma 5K this morning in memory of a friend's husband who died of ocular melanoma a few years ago.  It was the boys first experience with an organized 5k.  LT came in 3rd in the under 13 category (though would have probably done much better had he not walked/run with A and I in the beginning).

These two are just 2 weeks apart and have been buds since birth.  They were so cute when they saw each other at the event and held hands everywhere they went (when they were allowed out of the stroller).

Garden Nights

Each Tuesday we pick up our farm share from the Botanic Gardens.  Brian plays golf Tuesday nights and so occasionally the boys and I will stay and wander and get dinner.
We always make sure to visit Elsie's tree.  A is so sweet and always makes sure the plaque is free of debris.
And looking at the Koi is always a big hit.

Pride Parade

Denver has one of the biggest Pride Parades in the country and it starts just blocks from our house.  Each year we run into it accidentally but haven't really participated.  This year, however, the weather was perfect.  We walked over with our neighbors, watched, walked in the parade for a mile or so and returned back to the park to watch some more.  Its the best people watching day of the year and the whole thing is just so happy.  Plus the kids love collecting all the goodies thrown from the parade.

Summer

Summer in the Campbell family means early morning swim meets on Fridays.  They wake up once they swim, but aren't too happy with the early morning mom (or dad) wake up call.

Skiddittles

My parents have a pond in their backyard.  When each grandchild turns 2, they get to choose a fish from the fish store to add to the pond.  B's turn was last weekend.  He named it "Skiddittles".  In the video below you will learn what happened to Skiddittles 1 and that we now have a new Skiddittles.

Lego Camp

We hosted yet another Lego camp at our house.  Of course the only picture I have of the whole week is the tower the kids built after camp one day that was taller than me.  They insisted on taking a picture.

Second Grade Continuation

Some pics from A's recent second grade continuation event. Each of the second graders prepared and read a little speech in front of the class and parents. They'd clearly had some support and coaching as each speech followed a similar outline and hit on the same themes.  One of the themes was family and A won some laughs when he mentioned his older brother, "who is sometimes nice to me."

One person's junk is some little boys' treasure!

Walking home from piano, the boys found an old electric typewriter in the in the alley and are fascinated by it.

First Drop Off for B

B had his first play date today without me staying.  My friend's nanny had him over for several hours and he had a blast.  Here are some of the pics she texted me.
