Return to Coconut Tower

Last week after B's ski lesson his instructor told us that his skills weren't progressing and that he might get demoted into a different group while his current class moved on to bigger and better things.
Hoping to avoid demotion, I took B back to the magic carpet for some practice the next day while Kar and the big guys did some actual skiing on the mountain. At one point that morning Kar asked how it was going and I texted back, "A+ for attitude. D- for skills." As our day began, his instructor's assessment seemed sadly accurate. But we persisted and eventually turned a bit of a corner and even decided to go on the lift for the first time (the Kokomo lift that LT called it "Coconut Tower" when he was B's age) where five runs later his brothers would join us for a first ever having all three brothers ride the lift at the same time.

A mountain neighbor

A few doors down from our mountain place is a full time family with three boys.  The youngest came over this past weekend and said, "Do you have any kids?"  Brian, "Yep!  We have three", Little boy, "how old are they?"  Brian, "12, 10 and 4".  Little boy, "OK, I'll play with the 10 year old".  And they did.  He's a little bit of a free range kiddo being the youngest and spent quite a bit of time at our place.  He's also very good at advocating for his needs, "I would like hot chocolate."  "I would like two croissants."  Etc.  He and Ads had a great time building snow forts in both front yards.

Lots o' Boys

We had our friends over awhile ago that also have 3 boys.  These were my attempts at getting them all to look at me.

Visiting Elsie

Elsie's day was bitter cold and snowy this year.  We usually go to the gardens to visit her tree, release balloons and then go to dinner.  We did none of those.  In fact, it was so cold, the restaurant we had reservations at closed early.  We did manage to squeeze in a January visit on a warm day.

A Powder Day with A

Ads came up another day with me last month to ski while B had lessons.  It was 8 plus inches of powder and we had so much fun!

After we got home, the two little guys played in the snow for hours.

A Valentine Ski Day

B has ski lessons on Fridays this month (because the big guys don't have school most Fridays this month).  On Valentines Day, we dropped him off and met up with several other families to ski.  Unfortunately, LT was pretty sick so he stayed behind and rested.

And unfortunately B was getting sick.
But A had a great time with his buddies!

Nepotism

B and I recently collaborated on a project together in a continuation of my aspirational side career and the beginning (and perhaps end) of his career as a model.
