Family and friends worth of snowmen

We started off by making a mom and dad snowman, then added Elsie and the boys and before long, we had all of B's friends (not too many of them so that was easy) and a few other friends.  Unfortunately the weather warmed up a few hours later and most of these are gone but it was perfect snowmen making snow.

stop and smell the flowers

Walking to dinner recently Blane fell behind the rest of the family when he stopped to checkout the flowers outside the hardware store.

Big shoes to fill

Literally big shoes to fill. Not so much figuratively.

Spring snow

The spring snow storm today was perfect for a little brotherly bonding and snowman making (not pictured in this idyllic family moment is the big fight about snow-pants we had trying to get out of the house or my ridiculous outfit consisting of a free conference windbreaker, brown semi-dress shoes, white athletic socks, and gym shorts).

B lately

He's completely obsessed with firetrucks (and other trucks, but mostly firetrucks).  The older guys are really too big for the Children's Museum anymore, so its harder to find times to take B.  This week we found an afternoon and when he walked in and saw the big firetruck, his expression was priceless.  He got on and didn't want to get off.

We did manage to make it to the little kid area where he went up and down this slide over and over and over and over again.
So cute in his big cousins' old flannel and brothers old shades.
But more excited about his big cousins old fire truck jammies that he wants to wear all the time.
And he's still the baby brother who gets wrapped up and messed with often.  LT made him a snuggle spot on the couch one morning before school.

He's still little

Sometimes I start to think our big guys are too big to say funny things anymore, but then I am reminded otherwise.  A has had a few funny quotes lately.

1) Me: A, would you like to play a sport this spring?
A: Yes!  Occupational therapy!

2) After my race to me.  "Mom, if you tell me what place you got, I will give you a FREE massage!"

3) A sharing to his class: "Tomorrow I won't be here because I am going to take your kid to work day"
His teacher: A, What are you most excited about going to your dad's work?
A: Definitely brunch!

B

Brian and I had the boy's school auction Saturday night.  It was a comic con theme and as I was digging through the boys costume bin, he found this wig and wanted to wear it.

Easter in Dunstable

Our main reason for going back to east was to spend Easter with my grandparents (now almost 95 and 92).  Every Easter they take the whole family out to a big brunch at a hotel close to their home.  It always really fun.
Baby B warmed up to the big crowds pretty quickly and my grandma read him a few stories.
Four generations all dressed up for Easter brunch.

My mom's sisters always set up a big easter egg hunt for the boys.  They live on a huge piece of land and so its extra fun.  Baby B got the hang of it pretty quickly and had so much fun!
My grandparents even joined in the fun.
B found lots of fun eggs, but once he found the Lego box, he didn't want to find anything else.

When you walk into the hotel, the first thing you see is this giant Easter bunny.  Honestly its a little creepy and the big boys used to be scared of it.  Not B, he ran right in and jumped on the bunny's lap.

First day in Boston

We had a busy first day in Boston.   LT had fond memories of the children's museum and insisted that we go back.  He's really far too old for Children's museums and I think realized this once we got there.  B was at a perfect age and enjoyed it!

After naptime, we headed to Commons where they were setting up for what (I thought) was the Boston Marathon finish.  It turned out it was just the finish for the 5 K, but still fun to be in Boston around the time of the marathon.
My parents read us "Make Way for Ducklings" as a kid and now read the book to our boys.  We had to visit the swan boats and see the Mallard Ducks while we were there.

We had a little extra time before our dinner reservation and so we took the subway to Northeastern where my mom went to school and walked around the college campus.

A morning with B

I feel badly that I rarely take B anyplace due to his brothers busy schedules.  This morning we had no plans and so at the last minute I took him to Nature and Science.  At first he was unsure about the water, but it didn't take long for him to be completely soaked (despite the smock) and fully engaged with the water.  I learned after LT to always bring extra clothes and I was glad I had them today!
