Golden Gate Canyon

 We took the boys camping for a night over Memorial Day weekend with some friends. It was windy and cold, but the boys had a blast climbing up and over rocks, playing in the dirt and roasting marshmallows!

We packed up quickly Monday morning due to the high winds and chilly temps.  I knew that no one slept very well, but both boys were sound asleep within a few minutes of the car ride, at 9 AM.

Lakeside!

Lakeside Amusement Park hasn't changed much, if at all, since I went there when I was a kid. And that's part of its charm. It opened for the summer yesterday and we walked over this afternoon after Adler's nap. None of us was quite sure what to expect (LT was pretty fearful of the rides last time we tried something like this) but the boys warmed up to the idea of the kiddie land rides pretty quickly. They rode just about all the rides, taking a short break to share an orange soda, and even worked up the courage to try the little roller-coaster. I could tell they were both a little hesitant about it at first but they tried it and, on the way home, both claimed that the roller-coaster was their favorite ride of the day. I had a great afternoon watching them have so much fun.
