Slip n Slide Weather

Denver went from cold and wet to HOT.  Yesterday we watched several different kids and the slip n slide came out for some fun in the sun.

 

Mountains

The kids lead very full lives these days and getting to the mountains has been challenging to say the least.  Last weekend, however, we skipped my least favorite swim meet and headed up for the most gorgeous weekend.  B insisted on a car wash.

Because of all the snow and rain this year, things are very green and waterfalls are large and beautiful.  We went on a beautiful hike with a cascading waterfall halfway through and an enormous lake.  

We also went to the lake to paddleboard but it was really windy and too cold so we played in the sand instead.

The mountains still have a lot of snow on them, especially for the end of June.

 

Swim team buddies

 Two of the 3 meets this summer have been COLD and WET.  But these guys were all troopers and swam all their events.

Here's LT last weekend on his way to work and I couldn't resist grabbing a picture of him about to drive on his own for the first time. 

Newman Center

We sat with friends to watch the moms sing in another entertaining Voices Rock performance at DU's Newman Center (where K debuted with this group).  We tried to dress up a little bit for the show and Ads wore his "good socks" for the occasion. 

Big Bro support

Brian and I looked behind the blocks to make sure B was there for his race and saw him with his brother, holding hands and then sharing a chair.  So sweet.

 

LT turns 16!

We celebrated LT this week as he turned 16!  We had dinner with all the grandparents Sunday night (wish I took a picture), Monday, we just had a family celebration, and Friday night we took him out to dinner downtown with a few friends.

 

End of Year

On the last day, we were supposed to take 9 kids to swim, but the weather turned nasty at the last minute and we pivoted and came to our house (and added some additional siblings) for ice cream sundaes.  As usual, I didn't take many pictures.

The first day of summer for us, was also graduation for the 8th graders from Stanley.  Ads and his friends went to the ceremony, then I picked 3 of them up and fed them lunch and took them to a graduation party.

What Superheros Do on their Day Off

The seventh graders performed a play at the end of the year called "What do Superheros Do on their Day off?"  The kids were all so confident on stage and the play was laugh out loud funny.  Ads played Aquaman, which was a pretty significant role!

Dinner Dates

These two are in gymnastics every Tuesday together.   Brian and the other two all had things one Tuesday evening, so I took these two goofs out to dinner.
