Rolling Video Game

 Ads was invited to one of his best friends birthday parties, which included this rolling video game bus that pulls up to your house and provides hundreds of options of games for the kids.  The kids then spent the night.  While I wasn't there, the mom took this picture and I think its so sweet of this little group!

Science!

With the remodel, we didn't unpack most things until recently (and we are no where close to being done).  On a snowy cold May day, with all our activities being canceled, B unpacked my science bin and had a great time!

 

Field Trip for B

Bs class took a field trip to the Nature and Science Museum last week.  They have been studying rocks and minerals, so we headed to that exhibit first (no one stayed long in the exhibit because they were all scared in the dark).   We then had 2 hours to explore the rest of the museum with the little group we drove.

 

LTs birthday, a bit early

LT wanted to take some friends out to a nicer dinner for his birthday this year.  With the impending end of year events and graduation, we decided early was better.  We took 9 of his friends, plus B and my nephew to D Bar and then brought them all back to our house for ping pong and to hang out.  

 

Cousin Easter

My mom hosts an annual easter egg hunt for the grandkids each year (eggs color coordinated filled with treasures for each age and kid).  She gets the kids to "sell" the brunch by setting up stands and then the adults pay for the food.  Its really cute and all the kids look forward to it each year.

 

Colfax Races

I have run the Colfax half marathon most years we have lived in Denver (minus the years I have been pregnant, or the last two during the pandemic).  This year, we decided to all sign up for the 5K on Saturday and then I ran the half on Sunday.  Even B finished and the big guys and Brian did really well!

A booth was offering colored hair spray so B got himself all ready for the race!

The friend that I always run with tore her ACL, so she was unable to run with me, but luckily a good friend I run with in a group and my brother were there to hang out with before and after the race.

 

Pre Party for the Middle School Dance

I am way behind on blog posts, but a few weeks ago, the big kids had LT's last middle school dance, and the first "real" dance for Ads in middle school (given COVID).  LT had his own 8th grade pre party, so we offered to have a few of Ads friends over before hand for pizza and to play and hang out before driving them to the dance.  One of Ads friends has a little brother who is good friends with B, so naturally he and his mom joined the fun.

 

First Fancy Dinner

After moving to our new home, several people have given us gift cards for Tables restaurant.  My nephew is in town visiting and so we used it as an excuse to take him out to a nicer dinner.  Surprisingly all the kids loved the food!

 

Plants and Ice Cream

After 3 days of being stuck inside with a sick kid, we finally ventured out to get some flowers to plant.

And a huge vanilla shake since he wasn't feeling up to eating most of the week.

 

Poor Buddy

Brian has only traveled two times in the past few months, but both times, within hours of boarding the plane, this guy has spiked a fever and needed to stay home from school.  While not at all ideal, and I feel badly for him, its really sweet when he snuggles and sleeps with me.  

I knew the big kids would be gone all day today (school day), so I woke up at 5, ran 6 miles with my running group and came home to walk Lexi (hoping to get it all in before anyone woke up).  I am so spoiled with usually having someone home who can stay with him! But... when I got home from the run, he was sitting with sad eyes by the front door, and the same after I walked Lexi. 

Happy Birthday to Bri!

We had some friends over for tacos and cake to celebrate Brian's 45th birthday!  Ads made this amazing, super yummy cake, with zero help (complete with a fondant espresso cup on top and crumbled sprinkles for coffee grinds).
