summer club swimming '22

B joined his two older brothers on the swim team this summer. He did pretty well for a six-year-old even finishing some longer races like the 100 IM and free despite the classic little kid "jellyfish dive" and some rather inefficient strokes.  But he really excelled in the area of thinking he was a big kid and hanging out with the upper division, coaches, and life guards.

LT's season cumulated at the state meet (in the late afternoon/evening) where he swam free in the medley relay and touched out the kid in the next lane to win. Granted, summer club swimming doesn't have the top tier competition (especially at the older ages) but winning a state event is still pretty good in my book. Their free relay placed second and in individual events he placed 9th, 6th, and 9th in 50 free, 100 breast, and 100 free respectively.

Playing VR, spinning in the hanging lycra swing ("I'm a social water ball!"), a hole in the ceiling, and chewing an old soccer ball.

few more from Labor Day weekend

ultimate (frisbee)

First high school game under the lights at North. Some pretty talented seniors led them to a win but the freshmen crew showed out well and contributed on several points and important plays.

Homecoming

spring and summer

The first few weeks of school are in the books and the official start of Fall is just a few days away. So it's the perfect time for some photos from the last few (or more) months.

Our backpacking adventure (first time for B, Lexi and I).

Paddle boarding and mud fights at Dillon Reservoir.

            Lead water line replacement.

Mountain disc golf with friends.

Pokemon Go outing in the park.

A boy and his dog in the car.

Bike to school day. The group of big kids left B and I behind pretty quick. We were slow but he did make it.

Some school event with some school buddies.

LT and his partner in the 3D printing venture selling their wares at a YAB event.  The little brothers came to support him but also got some good lunch.

A stop at turtle park during a run (for me) / bike ride (for him).

Activities with cousins and friends during their moms' voices rock concert (this one was at the Stanley Marketplace, which isn't quite as cool as Red Rocks).

Summer ultimate.

Birthday dinner with a bunch of teenagers and one big cousin.

Always nice to see the meth cleanup trucks in the neighborhood.

Backyard landscaping.

First time behind the wheel of the Tesla. Some of us handled it better than others.

Imagine Dragons

My photography skills are seriously lacking, especially at dusk, but we went to the Imagine Dragons concert on Monday night.  It was our friends 50th birthday, so we met up for dinner before going to the concert.  B was blown away, bucket list item for him for sure!  It was also the first "big" concert we've taken any of the kids to.
