A Day in a Small Room

We finally had our hot tub installed yesterday.  Not only did they have to drop the hot tub in, but we had to have some electrical work done.  We thought this would take an hour or two, but the guy was here all day, with no mask (half his work was indoors and the other half outside).  We had to hide upstairs and luckily I had quite a few activities (Valentines, Kiwi Crate boxes for each age, books etc).  Its not a big room, at all.  As you can see several shots below, it got messy really quickly and Lexi wasn't super happy about being stuck upstairs all day.  But it was worth it and now we have a hot tub!

A winter hike and offspring in the car

Getting our 7 mile hike in and getting back to pick up our kids from preschool is tight.  We didn't quite make it back in time to pick up my car so these two cuties got to carpool home after school.

Skiing, Trains and a "Wrinkle"

Skiing last weekend with these two.
Lots of train fun.

And after a few hours of skiing, B said, "I am done, we need to go, I have a bad wrinkle on my head".  This is what we found when we took his helmet off, poor guy.

Snowshoeing on Tennessee Pass

We met some friends on Tennessee pass to snowshoe.  They have two boys and a girl puppy (their boys match up in ages close to our older boys).
Lexi prefers the road less traveled and to swim through the snow.

About halfway, there is an old abandoned model T car.

Me & you (instead of all of us)

[post title suggested by B]
B and I came up to the mountains a day before the rest of the family and had some special time together. We made pizza for dinner and cut it into shapes with cookie cutters (also played an elaborate game with them that I didn't fully understand), drank some bubble water (pictured is B's usual reaction to it), listened to a few Boxcar Children books, did a little skiing, and I even managed to get some work done.

A playdate, snuggles and a cute dog

A good friend of mine got her second covid vaccine and was extremely sick.  So sick she couldn't take her kids to school.  I took her daughter to school and then played with her and B in her backyard after school.  She's a pretty incredible athlete, doing flips off the trapeze bar, able to swing alone as high as possible, skiing blacks.  B, meanwhile floundered on his belly on the swing.

Tuesday nights are Brian and my "date" night right now so the big kids put B to bed (each one reads him a story and then they listen to one on audible while he falls asleep.
And Lexi.

First week of 2021

We skied a 3rd day earlier this week and B made some huge improvements yet again.

The big kids had online school this week, but B was in person again.  Keeping him entertained (afterschool) and away from his brothers while they are home is always a challenge, but we managed with science, games, art and playdates.
LT really loves Lexi when she's brushed and has taken it upon himself to brush her several times a week.
Cuties by the backdoor on the way to B's first day back.
The plasma car from Christmas comes out for races occasionally.

B had his new bed delivered Thursday, so Lexi came with me to pick B up from school.

PE for LT benefitted B while he waited for his buddy to come play.
No photos of B and his friend, but above is Lexi's playdate.

Friday for choice for Ads was making snow globes.  Naturally B wanted to make one so he joined in the class.

Storytime chess has quickly become a favorite around here.
We finally had time to get the new sewing machine out and practice.

B wanted his hair combed and dried last night and then a picture taken.  Of course the pic is pretty terrible, but the hair was cute.
