New Gear

My mom's cousin, a long time Bronco fan despite living near KC, knitted theses hats and scarves for the boys, which I absolutely love.

What Does The Fox Say?

What Does The Fox Say?

An outtake of Adler being Adler.

LT was helping me do some editing and I showed him some of the things the software can do, which eventually led to "put Adler's face on the fox!"

Outtakes

Some of the other photos from the little glamour shots session I made Adler do before his first day of school earlier this week were just too fun (to me anyway) not to share.

Adler is kind of an enigma in many aspects of life and he's no different as a photography subject. Somehow he manages to be one of the most fun and photogenic kids I know while simultaneously being one of the most difficult and frustrating to photograph.

Sleepover success

Landon has been asking to have his good friend from school sleepover.  For not being a huge fan of sleepovers, we have had a lot in the past few weeks!  Maybe its me being nervous about what our life will be like after we have a baby, or just trying to let Landon enjoy this sleepover phase.  Despite our failed attempt recently, every other one has been very successful and honestly the kids have slept better than Landon typically does.

I like to accommodate kids eating habits so that they feel most comfortable.  I always ask them what they like and this little guy was very specific (which is wonderful!).  He wanted pepperoni and olive pizza from Oblios for dinner and homemade waffles for breakfast (one of our kids favorite morning meals).  We went to Oblios Sunday night and he was very easy going when I explained that we didn't particularly like olives and asked if he would be OK with just pepperoni.  He ate a half pizza himself!  And I thought our kids were big eaters.  After dinner we came home and played for awhile and then went to bed.  Everyone was fast asleep by 8:30 and we didn't hear a sound from the big boys until after 7:30 AM.

Chihuly, again

We met several friends at the Botanic Gardens again recently to play in the river area (no pictures taken) and walk around the Chihuly exhibit.  Such a fun group of kids.
Looking for the biggest coy fish.
These two crack me up.  They are very good friends from school and unfortunately between their older brother's activities they don't see each other enough outside of school.  They walked around the gardens the whole morning either like pictured above or holding hands.  Every now and then they would stop and sit on a bench together and pretend to be dinosaurs before having to keep up with Landon and his friends.

Adler’s First Day of School

Preschool again for the last time

Today is the first day of the last year of preschool for Adler. I made him take some pictures last night because I wasn't sure we'd be able to do it in the morning - he tends to sleep in later than his brother and, with Adler, things always seem to take just a little longer than they otherwise would (he wears the "I'm Difficult" shirt well).

Chicago Babymoon

As a last hurrah before the arrival of kid #3 we spent a few days in Chicago while the boys stayed with Papa and Grandma.

Family hike redux

A few photos from my phone from our family hike at Mount Falcon.

Family hike

We decided rather spur of the moment recently to go for a family hike.  I googled best family hikes near Denver and Mt. Falcon came up over and over again.  I can't believe we had never been there!
There are lots of different routes to choose from with many look out areas to stop, rest, and have a snack.

 The views were amazing!
Landon told me this was his favorite hike we have ever done.  We will definitely be going back, though maybe with mountain bikes next time.

Seven

Adler's birthday is fast approaching, which is a subtle reminder that I've yet to put up photos from LT's birthday back in June. So, better late than never...

After some deliberation LT decided on a Lego party at home for his seventh birthday. To keep the sanity, we decided to limit it to four friends (and his brother). As usual, Kari did a wonderful job of coming up with some activities including a home made lego piñata.  As best I could tell everyone enjoyed themselves.
