For months LT has been unequivocal about what he wanted to do for his birthday party. When asked, he said he wanted to have a bike race with all his friends and no other details really mattered to him. So, with a little creativity and a lot of help from the grandparents, we did our best to let him have his bike race.
We had the usual party stuff - food & drinks - at our house. We also had some bike decorations as well as cute little kits for the kids to make license plates with their names on them for their bikes. We used the church/school parking lot across the street for the actual bike race. There was sort of a procession/parade over to the parking lot but after that all semblance of order was lost. It wasn't exactly a race but LT got to bike with a bunch of his friends and I think he loved it.
I tried to help out with the party planning and preparation but most of the credit for that goes to Kari and her parents. I figured one thing I could do was take some pictures of all the fun. A bunch of photos are posted here (and little thumbnail previews of them are below).
