White Fence Farm

LTs 5th birthday was yesterday.  I am still in shock that we have a 5 year old!  We had a fun morning of playing mini golf, followed by a yummy lunch at Tocabe (LTs request) and all 3 of us napped (very rare these days).  My hairdresser talks about a place not far from us called White Fence Farm.  I randomly decided to look it up yesterday and thought it looked like a fun place to celebrate your birthday, if you are turning 5.  I called Papa and Grandma at the last minute to meet us (Brian plays golf on Tuesdays and was unable to join us).  On the drive to the farm both boys were complaining about how long the drive was (15 minutes and they rarely complain in the car, strange).  LT was upset that he didn't get to choose where we ate.  I, as best I could, explained that sometimes you don't even know whats out there until someone shows you.  I told him that this would be a really fun place if he would give it a try (never being there myself, I was slightly worried, but the website made it look like paradise for kids).  Upon arrival, I knew it would be a hit. The boys bolted out of the car to the playground.  It is set next to a little stream and has a magical tree house.  Honestly, the boys would have been fine with these two things, but the fun only continued to grow exponentially.
On the property (which is huge), are old tractors which were really  fun for LT to play on.
There is a petting zoo with goats, cows (and a baby cow just 3 weeks old!), and sheep
We had to wait a little bit for our table to be ready and so we played outside.  Inside is a really old fashioned restaurant with fried chicken, pickled beets, cottage cheese, coleslaw and the most delicious corn fritters.  The waitresses sang happy birthday to LT with sparklers and brought over a cake.  They also brought each boy a wooden coin to choose a treasure out of a treasure box and a coupon for a free ride on the horse drawn carriage!
 LT proud after his ride!

I love this picture of LT and grandma on the carriage ride.
There was a duck pond and the boys fed the ducks.
The magical tree house!  After 3 hours at the farm, we still hadn't seen everything there was to see.  This means we will definitely go back at some point and this time bring daddy!
