Spring break 2021

It was no Mexico, but we managed to go on a pretty fun spring break adventure as a family.  We rented a beautiful home in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a few nights.  We got in the car Friday afternoon and drove to a dog friendly (but not covid friendly) hotel in Pueblo.  Upon walking in, I knew we wouldn't be stopping here on our way home as planned.  Few people were wearing masks in the lobby (including one of the woman working the front desk).  We checked in and pretty much just hung out in our room until we left the following morning.  A good friend of ours is from Pueblo and suggested, in his words, the best Mexican food anywhere.  We ordered take out for dinner (and it was excellent!) and ate in the room.
The table only had two seats (naturally for Brian and I) and so the kids spread out throughout the room (it looks like we socially distanced them).

I brought a bunch of breakfast and lunch food for our trip so we had that in the room Saturday morning before continuing on our way to Albuquerque.
Surprisingly, this was Lexi's first time on a bed (and maybe her last).

The house we rented came with a pool table, ping pong table, putting green outside, a basketball hoop, beautiful view and a 95 degree heated outdoor pool.  There was plenty for our family to do.

We were able to watch my nephew swim in the sectional meet (entire western US) for several events.  He came in 8th in the 50 free!  And he was top 30 in all his other events.
We didn't get around to dying Easter eggs this year (at least not yet), but we did make rice krispie bird nests for Easter.

We managed to have a really good time, the weather was perfect and the house was perfectly set up for all our aged kids.  We decided to cancel our Pueblo hotel and take a different route home to spend a few days in Silverthorne to ski before heading back to Denver.
