The Gardens

Kari and her parents took the boys to Massachusetts this weekend to visit their great-grandparents.  I took some of the time alone to visit Elsie's tree at the Botanic Gardens.

Arts Festival

The boys school puts on a huge "arts festival" which basically includes any type of performance.  Both boys participated this year (LT did a magic show with a friend and A played the piano).  Neither performance went as planned, but they both got up in front of lots of people and that's a start!

Tree Removal

We're getting ready to do a big front and back landscaping project to make our yards more useful.  The first step however was to remove the 115 year old Blue Spruce in our front yard.  Not only was it about to fall on our neighbors house (main reason for removal), but it has also basically killed our front yard as well as her front yard.  It was sad to see it go, but we will enjoy not worrying about it falling.
Its been really fun and interesting to watch the removal.  First they took all the branches off, one by one and tied and lowered each and every one of them.  This took two full days.

 Entertainment for a sick baby!

Afternoon at the Gardens

It was so beautiful out last Friday and the boys have half days every Friday so we took advantage and met some friends at the gardens.  LT sunbathing above.  B finding the joys in steep grassy hills below.
B is so used to being around big kids, he just follows and does whatever they're doing.

Big Boy

B recently started using a spoon by himself.

And puts hats on by himself.

And plays big guy stuff like Mad Matter with his brothers on rainy spring break days.

Avalanche Ranch

The boys and I spent the first part of spring break at Avalanche Ranch.  Despite a few hiccups (stomach bug and being stuck when the highway was shut down on the way home), we had such a nice time.  I definitely want to take Brian back.

We rented this cute little cabin, but there are also wagons you can rent and stay in (no kitchen or bathroom though)
We met some good friends there which made it extra special (and they helped me tremendously when I was sick!)

Zoo with my little guy

B and I had the afternoon with nothing to do and gorgeous weather.  I have been wanting to see Dobby (the new giraffe) and a new tiger exhibit and so we took advantage of the time and went to the zoo.

B mostly just enjoyed pushing the stroller, playing with various ropes and looking at rocks, but I was happy to be out.
Dobby was really cute (weighs more than I do at 3 weeks, but still pretty small for a giraffe!)  The tiger exhibit, in my opinion, was quite disappointing.

Trouble!

This week

We've had limited time lately to write blogs, but here is our past week in a nutshell.  We had dinner at some friends house and B (once again) played with his little buddy.
Landon got very into Pi day this year and went so far as to write many digits on his arm and make a happy pi day shirt.
The boys were beyond thrilled that I let them have dorritos and cheetos.  Not sure why they decided sitting in a corner by the back door was a good place, but they were happy!
We went to the gardens yesterday to play and visit Elsie's tree.

Mini

B has been imitating nearly everything I do.  I clean out my hairbrush after I use it each day.  Now each time he holds a hairbrush, he goes to the trash and pretends to throw hair away.  When I fold laundry, he does the same.  Yesterday I got a piece of wood lodge in my food and have had to wrap it since.  After I changed the dressing, he got the tape and asked for a piece.  Before I knew it, he had put it on his foot too.  So cute.
