QOTD by Ads
At breakfast this morning, I was explaining that I needed to make a phone call to ensure that we had a rental car for today (was supposed to take the car in for some work, long story, but it didn't work out). The boys asked why I needed a rental car and I said, "to pick you all up from school, run a few errands" and Ads lit up at said, "well, to get your toes done too since you can't reach them!" Apparently I get pedicures often enough that he thinks its a daily thing.

the rainbow mystery
The 2015 school year has started so I'm a wee bit behind in posting about last year's school play. But better late than never.
LT's class puts on a play at the end of the year where every kid gets to choose the character they want to be and together with the teachers (mostly the credit goes to the teachers) they develop a storyline that involves all the characters. It's quite a feat.
LT and a few of his buddies decided to be bananas in the play that would become, "The Rainbow Mystery"

Early morning Chicken
Now that both kids are at the same school, I typically leave LT to get to class alone (which he is more than happy to do and I think encourages independence, which is good). I walk Ads down the hall to his class and leave him (parents are quickly escorted out, which is also good) Today I literally dropped Ads off and walked back to return something to LTs teachers and he was busily building this "chicken" with one of his best buds. These two have built quite the variety of structures together. Last year they went through a phase of building wedding chapels.

Buddy pic
Adler's teacher sent me a text of him on the first day with his buddy. Looks like he had a good day!

Bashom Bots
LT and Z did a bashom bots camp last week. On the last day is the big battle where one bot battles another! This is their hard work all ready to battle.

Good buds birthday
As I have mentioned before, LT and Isaac have been very close friends since they were 6 months old. We celebrated his actual birthday with him, but last weekend was his party.
Lego camp
We are hosting a lego camp at our house this week, with 13 boys (we even had a waiting list)! It has been so fun to have them all here and to watch their creativity soar when it comes to building.

Fountains
Each boy has had a lego camp at separate times, leaving me with one on one time with the other (so nice for mom time and playdate time!) I took each boy during their one on one time to this fountain that is close to where the camps were held. LT and I met his good friend there one morning and the boys played for almost 2 hours.
Today I took Ads by himself, but within a minute he had already made friends with these two boys who don't speak any English. He had a whole game that the three of them played happily for about an hour. He's amazing in his ability to make friends easily and play.
But when they had to leave, he was more than happy to run laps in the water alone.

Morning mom escape
For the past two years, I have managed to escape early one Saturday morning to participate in yoga on the rocks. Its a yoga class at Red Rocks at sunrise with over 2000 people. The classes sell out quickly and planning ahead can be difficult, but its worth it.
This year I went with Adler's good friends mom Candace. Such a great way to start a Saturday!

Home visit
The boys school has each teacher do a home visit before each Kindergartener starts to help the transition be as smooth as possible. Adler planned out what he was going to wear the night before. He wanted to dress as a "plumber" and wore this mustache and the only nice shirt he owns.

Chef Zorba's
In the days of my youth I often went to Zorba's for hangover food (the $1.35 breakfast special, if I recall correctly). Nowadays, when Kari is away, it's a favorite dinner spot for the boys and I. Times have changed some for me.

Isaac turns 8!
Landon and Isaac are very close buddies. They request being together on each of their birthdays and Isaac's 8th b-day was no exception. We helped him celebrate by going out for Mexican food (his request) and the to Menchies for dessert. His two younger brothers come along for the festivities, as well as Adler.
These three pictures capture the second kids personalities perfectly!
Birthday boy and his buddy!
The youngest.

Z's birthday
LT and Z remain close buddies despite not going to school together. For Z's birthday, he wanted a sleepover with just LT. While I wasn't there, these are some of the highlights that were sent to me.
It was shark week and Dunkin Donuts had shark mouth donuts, which they got!
And spent lots of time playing the game of "Life". Fun times for these two.

Braces and other hardware for the mouth
Over the next month, Landon will have a series of orthodontic appointments to put various hardware in his mouth to correct his underbite. He's been a trooper so far, though only the first step has been done.

City Park Fountains
I had forgotten about the fountains at City Park, but a friend invited us for a picnic dinner and to play. I won't forget about them again, so much fun!

Second generation VV
Megan and I have been friends since we were newborns. While we only went to preschool together, we remained close friends through all the years, partially thanks to our summer days at VV. While they don't belong to the same pool anymore, today we took all our kids to swim at VV, just like the old days (her younger son was with us also).

Jumping, Diving, and Flipping
Before this summer neither of the boys had ever even really been off a diving board (I think uncle Steve lowered LT down from a board to Kari once when he was like three but that doesn't really count). They'll tell you that they haven't learned much this summer swimming but I think they've made a lot of progress. Today they showed off some of their newly acquired skills and LT even tried his first ever flip.

QOTD
Driving home tonight:
LT: I'm the lion, Elsie is the fox, the new baby is the bear, I don't know what Adler is?
Adler: I'm the celery!
